Close to New Amsterdam shopping centre there is St. Maarten Park of Philipsburg, where I have seen a small exhibition of fauna and flora from the islands. They told us that all animals were born in captivity and the importance is to preserve the endangered species. The visit cost me 10 $, they charge 5 $ for kids; it's open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, location is Arch Rd in Madam Estate. see their website www.stmaartenpark.com.
